Weekly Report

29th January, 2007 - Ken Russell

At Morecambe Bay Movie Makers' weekly meeting, the Warriner Trophy competition (named after one of the founder members) was held, being the first competition of 2007. The competition is based on a different theme or technical challenge each year, with a maximum length of five minutes. This year's challenge was to use a 30 second music clip similar to that made famous in a "Keystone cops chase."

Taking the top two places was Graham Easton with an animation based on the construction of a recent theatre prop used in a club movie and a Scrabble animation using the letters from the competition's name.

In third place was Brian Melmore with a natural history movie featuring amusing red squirrels.

Next year's theme for the Warriner Trophy is "Light"

The second part of the meeting was spent discussing and planning the club's new web site, which will be going live in the next few days.
